Scorcher of a run by our ace square miler Joseph Hoffman to start us off

Barclays is running 600km for EMpower this month!

EMpower - The Emerging Markets Foundation is a global philanthropic foundation focused on marginalised youth in emerging market countries.

They partner with local, community-based organizations in 15 EM countries that enable young people’s successful transition into productive, healthy adulthood, developing the next generation of leaders.

Barclays have taken up the challenge to raise funds for this amazing charity and learn more about their incredible work in supporting youth.

This month we will be challenging ourselves to walk or run 600km!  At UM Rio, for young people in favelas, the closest university is about a 16km roundtrip. Can you join us in replicating their journey by walking or running 600km this month?

Give us that extra push for the final miles, and help us achieve our goal by donating to our page!

Your donations can help young people in Latin America through:

- USD $100 helps 1 girl or young women to increase their vocational skills and gain training the software development sector.

- USD $250 can help 2 young people from the rural community of Santana Do Derserto develop their life skills, improve their academic performance, and access sexual and reproductive health information.

- USD $500 can educate 8 young people to identify, mitigate and prevent sex and gender-based violence through a comprehensive sexual education.
